This webinar will be hosted live and available on-demand

Thursday, October 5, 2023
11:00 AM Eastern Time

Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) consisting of lymphocytes, dendritic cells and monocytes play an important role in both innate and adaptive immune systems. As such, PBMCs are critical in protecting the body from viral, bacterial, and parasitic infection. Researchers routinely isolate PBMCs for research and development of biological therapeutics and are often concerned whether cryopreservation affects the various sub-populations of immune cells or the performance parameters of those cells.

In this webinar brought to you by Lonza, Sarah Thacker and Kevin Grady will present how cryopreservation affects PBMC functionality in routine proliferation and standard immune cell-based assays.

Topics to be covered

  • T cell activation after PBMC cryopreservation
  • Cryopreserved PBMC performance in immune cell-based  assays
  • Changes in composition of cell sub-populations after PBMC cryopreservation
